Crappie on the Fly

Journal Date: April 27th, 2009 | Filed Under: Fishing Reports

This is the earliest we have gone after crappie, we usually wait until May but with the warm days and low water we gave it a shot. We only found them in one spot and they were stacked up. Tait count 20 fish landed with a couple of sunfish and one white perch in the mix. Jax and I did just as well.

After fishing for crappie we headed to a brook, hoping to get some suckers on the fly but only managed a few chubs but the suckers were there, they would roll in the fast water. We ended up rescuing a eel that was hooked on a hook and mono line in the river.
