Penobscot River, Atlantic Salmon Count

As of yesterday the count was 1,444 salmon and water temps were 20 C (68 F). In the past week, we have seen a wide range in daily counts from a low of 7 to a high of 94, yesterday. Last year our biggest single day was 89 new salmon on June 11th followed by 88 on June 23. You have to go back to 2003 to find a higher daily count (98). The all time daily high for Veazie was 252 on June 28, 1990. Let hope the peak of the run is still to come
