She worked hard

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

I guided Barb and bob a half day for small mouth. Barb had never caught a fish on the fly rod, so she never picked up a spinning rod the whole time. She missed several but finally was able to seal the deal. She worked real hard for the two fish she landed, congrat Barb.

Bob also got into a bunch of fish but our highlight was Barb.

I thought I would give my mom a plug. She make these real cool lamps and can do pretty much any scene for you. It would make a great Father’s Day gift. Her site is The Old Bag Lady

Caddis, Caddis, caddis

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Yes, it is that time of year again when caddis are coming off on most rivers in Maine. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get the drift boat out, this being one of my last days for a while to get out and fish. Peter of Striking Gold Jewelers and I headed to the river.

We landed several fish but missed way more than landed, I said **** many times. The fly of choice was a caddis but a few were landed on nymphs. It was great and get out and fish with a friend.

Happy Birthday Mike

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Lisa hired me to guide her boy friend Mike and her self, for Mike’s birthday present, which I thought was real cool. Mike had been out a couple of times before with a buddy and Lisa had never been out before. They both picked it up quickly and was into fish pretty quick. We touched on a lot of different part of fly fishing but dries were the fly of choice and caught all the fish.

This is exactly why I love guiding, making new fiends, introducing people to the sport, teaching and putting people on fish.

New friends

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

I spent the day guiding Richard and Terry for small mouth bass. As a guide I find it very exciting meeting new people and getting to know new clients. We had a lot of laughs and even caught a few fish.
