Fly fishing for Northern Pike

A few weeks ago Tim’s wife called, She wanted to hire me to guide Tim before they had the baby,which is due Memorial weekend. We were supposed to go for trout and salmon but due to high water, we were limited. I had been getting a lot of northerns so we decided to stay close to home.
I received a text last night saying they were at the hospital but lets not cancel right yet. When I woke this morning I had another text saying,”see you at 5!”

We had action all day and had some pushing mid 30s to 40 inches fallow right up to the boat. Tim had one well over 30 inches slam his fly and break the wirer leader. It was wet and cold but the fish still had to eat.
