Tough Day

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

I guided George and his dad John from Louisiana. They wanted a lot of action so crappie was my choice but the water was higher and muddy plus Alewives were every where. They did manage a few fish and we had some laughs. It was great to have a couple of guys out who really appreciate the environment around them.

New to the sport

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

This has been a great week, I had the pleasure of teaching two new guys to fly fish. These are picture of Lou with a couple of fish he caught on the fly. We spent over three hours casting and land crappie. We worked on casting techniques and ways to set and land fish.

Another one goes down

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

John hired me to teach him to fly fish. We went out for a half day. I spent time going over knots, rods, fly, two types of cast and presentation. He picked it up pretty quick and will be throwing away all his spinning rods. He caught crappie after crappie and landed a few pickerel.
