Maine Striper Bass

Trout,salmon and suckers

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

I spent the day guiding Chuck and Justin from Arkansas. Justin is a Smoky Mountains guide and has fished for many different fish. I had some great conversion with them about their fishing trips. They had never caught a land lock salmon and that was their goal. The weather was cloudy, with a light breeze and only 50 degrees out. They managed to get several salmon( one 18 and 16 inches), two brook trout(one 16 inches) and four suckers. Justin also broke off two monster, we wish we could of seen those fish.

As a side note we saw, seven moose, ducks, rabbit, loons, a beaver, king fisher and a fox.

The last few weeks

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I find the fall fishing to be my favorite and sometimes the colder it gets the better. It brings on a whole new set of challenges. Even though most of the places hold stock fish, the places are beautiful and are a lot of fun with a 4 weight rod. They are also great places to spend time with friends. These are some pictures form the last few weeks.

Grand Lake Stream

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Russ, Brad, Tait and myself fished GLS this past weekend. We ran into DaveM,who I saw hook into a few nice fish. Tait and I hook four nice ones this morning on nymphs but Tait broke two of them off. Last night Jack, who is my insurance guy caught two nice salmon and let Tait reel them in,thanks. Met some real nice people and only had a couple times I felt like throwing rock at people[;)]. There are some real nice fish in the river and they are very fat. So take advantage of this great weather and get out there.
